So this isn’t exactly my first political type photo, but it has been awhile since I last did it.

This was an interesting and kind of difficult situation to work in because Lee was between classes when I took the photo and so he was being interviewed by the reporter who was off camera.

Because of this, it would have been very impractical to say, “smile please,” and I tried to get a more casual type photo.

I took a variety of photos from different positions to see if anything worked, and I did in fact like a few others better. However, this is the one my editor went with so I’ll have to deal.
