Red & Black

Womens Basketball

Basketball season has started once again which means I get to start shooting it alongside football.  I shot a good amount of basketball last season, but the photojournalism program at UGA was donated some new toys recently so I got to try out a lens that my teacher described as, “perfect for basketball.”

It’s a 85mm f/1.8.  It took me the first five minutes of the game to get used to, but after that it worked really really well.  The first photo was taken with it and I’m astounded by how sharp it came out.  The detail is just great.  The second photo was taken at 17mm f/4.0.
