After coming back from an assignment today one of the writers for the paper got a call that there was a police standoff in a neighborhood not too far from the paper. We packed up and ran over.
This guy allegedly was barricading himself in his mother’s home and was carrying a handgun. The police tried contacting him, but he wouldn’t respond. After about 2.5 hours the mother ran into the house for some reason, and a sheriff ran in behind her and dragged her out. Eventually they threw in tear gas and brought the guy out.

Looks like they have one hell of a SWAT team there. I like the old guy in the second picture, who has an AR-15 strapped to his back. I bet if the suspect ran, grandpa would have a hard time keeping up.
