July NPPA Clip Contest

I just found out that I won 1st Place for Spot News in Region 6 of the NPPA (National Press Photographer Association) monthly clip contest for July.

I started submitting photos for the contest in June after I started at The Anniston Star, but they haven’t posted the winners for June yet (I know, its strange).

Anyways, you can see the winners here.

Also, shoutout to John David Manning and Kendrick Brinson who also won awards. I worked with Dave when I freelanced for The Athens Banner-Herald and Kendrick is a UGA grad who was Chief Photographer at the Red & Black when I was a freshman..

    i didn’t know i’d won anything. in fact i don’t even know how to find out? i thought region 6 was way behind? i’m new to the nppa contest, so fill me in!
