Singing loud, singing proud

The Mill Creek United Methodist Church will be performing in the Verizon “How Sweet the Sound” Choir Competition in the near future.  The paper wrote a story that ran today about it so they had me go out earlier in the week and get photos of them practicing.

I wanted to get something different than the standard photo of one person singing and a photo of the choir as a whole felt like it was missing something so I tried getting behind the director and working her into the shot to break up the shot a bit.  Whether it works or not is up to you to decide, but I think it works.

It would probably have worked better with a full frame camera though because it would have added more area around the frame without changing the ratios of the director’s head to the head sizes of the people in the background.

Celia Stockton leads the Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church Choir in practice before their upcoming performance at the Verizon Wireless “How Sweet the Sound” choir competition. The event will be held at Philips Arena.
