Hordeburger in Paradise

Yes, I am aware that there may  only be 2 people I know that will get the title of this post and I’m not even sure if they check this blog, but regardless, its a shout out to them.

Earlier this week I shot some food portraits for a weekly section in the paper called “The Dish.”  The restaurant this week is “Bottom of the Cup” up in Flowery Branch.

I wanted to do something different so I brought a second strobe with me that I borrowed from the paper and set them both to remote.  I then put them in various locations to see what kind of lighting affects I could produce, these came out the best.

You can read the story by Deanna Allen here.

Bottom of the Cup featured their hamburger, onion rings, shrimp cocktail and chicken caesar salad.

The strobes are on the sides pointed up from the bottom.  If I could do it again I’d use a reflector or something on the top to knock some light back down onto the lemon.

Another angle of the shrimp cocktail.
I like the color and rim ligh in this one, but the burger is a bit too hidden.
