Dravet’s Syndrome

The other week I shot a child who had Dravet’s Syndrome. Dravet’s is a rare type of epilepsy, only 6 people in Georgia have it.  When Ryan was really young one of his seizures left him autistic among some other developmental problems.  According to the story, he has about 40 seizures a month and was recently approved by the Make-A-Wish Foundation to recieve a dog that would alert his parents when he has a seizure.

You can read the story by Deanna Allen by clicking here.

Ryan Skriba, left, looks in awe as his mother Kimberly, right, pulls out a box of toy monster trucks.  Ryan has Dravet’s Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy.

Ryan really enjoys cars and racing.  Here he plays with toy cars as Nascar posters line his walls and he watches Pixar’s movie Cars on his TV.
