Its a rivalry again!

I got to shoot the annual rivalry game between Georgia and Georgia Tech today.  It was rainy, it was windy and it was cold, but I think I got some good photos regardless. The term rivalry had mainly been used in a historic sense for the past few years.  Georgia went on a 7-0 stretch [...]

Thanksgiving hockey

Last night I shot the Gwinnett Gladiators vs. Augusta Lynx ECHL hockey game at the Gwinnett Arena.  They play on Thanksgiving night annually, and since I was working, I was there to shoot it. The Gladiators’ Daniel Sullivan (28) celebrates with teammates on his bench after scoring the teams’’ second goal in 11 seconds. It [...]

Homework for adults

I shot this story about a homework academy for parents at Lawrenceville Elementary School the other week. This was another one of those situations that should have been technically difficult to photograph.  The lights in the room were off and the ambient light would have come from the door to the hall or the projector.  [...]

Purple Heart

This guy got a Purple Heart in Iraq, so I took his portrait. Sgt. Travis Wayne Towler was recently awarded a Purple Heart. Three years ago he sustained injuries as a medic after he began attending to injured friends, unaware he has sustained a head, knee and arm wounds of his own.

A bridge too far

This was a pretty straight forward assignment, shoot a bridge. The Rogers Bridge could soon be renovated at the cost of $1 million. The bridge was built 100 years ago and would connect Peachtree Industrial Boulevard to a Duluth park at the Chattahoochee River for walkers and bikers.

Lawrenceville in book form

Shot this portrait the other week.  Mary Long wrote a book about Lawrenceville’s history.  The assignment was scheduled for her home, but my boss recommended asking her to head down town for the shoot if there wasn’t anything that could make a strong background. While the reporter, Camie Young, interviewed her I looked at her [...]

Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers

I shot a freelance assignment for the Winston-Salem Journal today at the Falcons vs. Panthers game.  That isn’t running till next week, so I won’t post those photos till then. However, after I finished I went down to the field and shot some of the game.  I only spent a quarter down there though because [...]

Grayson vs East Paulding (High School Football)

Photos from the Grayson vs East Paulding high school football game on Friday.  It was the second round of the state championships.  Grayson won and plays Lowndes next week at home. The Grayson Rams’ mascot, Rambo II.  One of the handlers said I had a lot of guts to get that close to the ram.
