If you manage it, they will come

Shot this earlier in the month.  I submitted a tighter version to the paper since I didn’t think they’d want it with all the dead space since its really just a glamorized mugshot, but I like this one better so I’ll put it up here. Rudolph Smith will be officially named city manager of Norcross [...]

Mill Creek vs Norcross

Meadowcreek vs. Berkmar, boys basketball. Both teams were good and it was a fun game to watch/shoot. Where’s my head?

If only their football teams were this good

Meadowcreek vs. Berkmar, boys basketball.  Both teams were good and it was a fun game to watch/shoot. I imagine I’d make a similar face in this situation.

Tall

When you’re only 5’7, most people seem taller than you, but it doesn’t help when you run into this guy, Brian Cole.  He plays at Dacula High School and is easily almost 7 feet tall. I shot this one back in October when I was doing the Super 6 stuff as well. Dacula’s Brian Cole [...]

But how the time flies

Free show at the Star Bar in Little Five Points tonight.  I heard Madeline was playing so I decided to check it out.  Madeline is from Athens and I saw her twice up there (here and here).  I’d say I did a little better this time. It also turned out that one of my friends [...]

In more ways than one

What else does this remind me of that happened today? I was driving around looking for a stand alone for tomorrow’s paper thinking about a number of things, then I came across this. Gwinnett County Firefighters and Police work to rescue a woman trapped in her car after flipping while coming down the off-ramp from [...]

The world is a stage(dive)

County diving championship at the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center.  Only the second time I’ve shot swimming or diving, so I think I did alright. County diving championships, yay!

The International

Minor Elementary School held their annual International Night tonight.  Lots of kids running around wearing clothing from their various nations of origin and participating in assorted activities. Jacynithia Lewis watches as teacher Emily Ray applies aboriginal styled face paint to her at Minor Elementary’s International Night.

Battle of the Christian Privates

Shot the Greater Atlanta Christian vs. Blessed Trinity game tonight.  Jonathan had the lights so I shot available light at ISO 3200.  Thankfully, despite GAC having a really old gym, the light wasn’t bad so I was able to get 1/400 of a second. This was the guy’s introduction… I’m not sure why they are [...]

Khalid Mutakabbir, Peachtree Ridge

I shot this portrait back in early November but it is running in today’s paper.  I actually posted this in my best sportraits of the year for 2008 with my boss’s permission, but now that its actually running I can also include the one that didn’t get used (which is below the cut). For something [...]
