Stuck in Folsom Prison

Last week I went to the Gwinnett County Correctional Complex (prison) and shot some photos for a story about what could happen if the prison is shut down from budget cuts.

The hardest thing about shooting in prison is that you can’t have any of the inmates be identifiable.  It makes things a bit difficult since as a photojournalist you are trained to make sure people are identifiable, but it made for a fun challenge.

The Deputy Warden of the prison wanted to stress that he put the blindfold on by choice to block out the light while he was sleeping, this ain’t no Git-mo.
