Ego tripping at the gates of Piedmont Park

As mentioned in my last post, while the cyclists were doing their route I hung around Piedmont Park.  The sun was setting so there was some very directional light and I had some fun with it.  Also figured it would be a good opportunity to play around with HDR imaging some more (see here for old examples).

I was at the bottom of this hill when all of a sudden I saw the silhouette of this guy holding a guitar pop up.  I had to get the shot.

Then a kite popped up so I wanted to shoot that.

Turns out a little girl was flying it while being directed by her father.

He joined her a moment later with his other child on his shoulders.

As I turned around to head back down the hill I saw my very extended shadow.  Its the only time I get to feel tall.

  1. Josh,
Great photos! I’m the father with the 2 little girls. I’m interested in the picture of the 3 of us. The digital file would be fine. Let me know. Thanks.

  2. Those last three are great. Almost unreal-looking.
