Wedding: Tom & Anna Hamlin

Sometime last year after I went freelance my friend from high school and UGA, Anna Tyler, asked me if I would be interested in shooting her and her fiance Tom’s wedding at Little Gardens in Lilburn/Lawrenceville.  I was thrilled she asked me because I still didn’t have a ton of experience at that point and really appreciated them taking a leap of faith to give me a chance to document their special day.

Anyways, the wedding was beautiful and the two were great to work with.  Also, Tom’s idea of having a Groom’s cake made entirely from Krispy Kreme donuts was a brilliant idea (although I personally prefer Dunkin’ Donuts).

Also, I’d like to thank my friend Charles-Ryan Barber for assisting me on the shoot.  His help made the wedding a breeze since he was able to help me set up my lights and move them around as needed.  This was actually the first wedding I was able to use the lights for and they made life a lot easier.  Unfortunately, do to their size they don’t travel well if I’m not able to drive them in my car.  I wish shipping weren’t so expensive.

Tom and Anna during the ceremony.

Tom, right, and his Groomsmen.  I told them to act as “thug” as they could.
“Think you can pick her up?”  The answer was yes.
Tom and Anna stand on their cake, while UGA/Athens, Ga. sits atop the Groom’s doughnut cake.

  5. Great photos. I love the one with the 2 girls giving each other a high five. How did you create that effect with the light?

  9. As the mother of the two ring bearers… I just had to share what a great job you did with Tom and Anna’s wedding photos. I never would have guessed that this was one of your first forays as the official “wedding photographer”. You seemed so at ease and comfortable in your environment, I’d have thought you’d been doing it for years! :)
