Baseball: Alabama vs. Georgia Tech (NCAA Atlanta Regionals)

Over the weekend I shot the NCAA Atlanta baseball regionals for Elon University, The Macon Telegraph and US Presswire.  Normally I’d post the other days first, but I decided to jump straight to the championship game.  The Alabama Crimson Tide managed to fight back from a Saturday night loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets with a win over the Mercer Bears Sunday afternoon to take Tech on again Sunday night.  The regional system is double elimination, so Alabama’s win forced a game 7 on Monday.  Alabama, down early, clawed their way back to win and advance to the super regionals next week.

The entire weekend was plagued by bad weather with lots of clouds and rain.  Monday was the first of the days where the weather cooperated completely, and as a result there was some fantastic light through the first 3 innings.

The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team celebrates their victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Russ Chandler Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on June 7, 2010.
