Atlanta Urban League and Mo’Nique

On Saturday, I had two assignments for the AJC.  This was the first.  Actress Mo’Nique was being recognized by the Atlanta Urban League with their Lifetime Achievement Award in a ceremony at the Mariott Marquis hotel.  Mo’Nique, 42, choked up quite a bit at the realization that she still had much of her life to live.  She was also recognized by the city of Atlanta in a surprise move and was presented with the Phoenix Award.

Mo”Nique pauses to collect her thoughts during her thank you speech.

Ambassador Andrew Young gave the invocation.
