Commercial: The Whitefield Academy

Last month I started some contract work with The Whitefield Academy in Cobb County.  The school is a private Christian institution that has a growing campus.  The approach to the shoot was to produce photos that accurately represented a day in the life of a student.  This meant pure photojournalism instead of posed shots.  Posing [...]

Portrait: Amazing Whitefield Academy Student

Shot a quick portrait for the Whitefield Academy while I was doing the shoot for them back in May.  The student was being recognized for his accomplishments and they wanted his portrait with his violin.  I didn’t have any of my big light gear so I improvised using window light. I wish I’d had my [...]

Commercial: Whitefield Academy

In May I shot some photos for the Whitefield Academy, a small Christian private school in Mableton.  They had me go into a few classrooms and just get students during a typical day. A student works at the Whitefield Academy in Mableton, Ga., during the final weeks of the school year.

Commercial: Photos for a Logistics Company

Last month I did some work for a trucking/logistics company.  As per their request I can’t identify them, or post any of the photos that have their logos in them, but these should work since there are no identifying characteristics. Out in Maxeys, Ga.

Commercial: Thos Baker

Back in February I did a shoot for the company Thos Baker, which sells the Starbay line of furniture.  They needed some detail shots of various items of theirs.  They wanted me to highlight the small things that make the Starbay line unique, so with the direction of one of their reps I went through [...]

The High Meadows School

Back in February I did a shoot for the High Meadows School.  The shoot was pretty straightforward, showing teachers and children interacting with each other, so I did what I normally do and became a fly on the wall for several classes throughout the day.  Most of the shots were done only using natural light [...]

SEC Cookoff with Vince Dooley and Pat Dye

Back in early December I shot some photos for LG of a cook-off they sponsored at the SEC Fan Fest at the Georgia World Congress Center.  The contest, between former UGA football coach Vince Dooley and former Auburn coach Pat Dye, was to determine who could make the best shrimp and grits. The most memorable [...]

Commercial: Georgia Tech Athletics Facilities

Back in July, Georgia Tech asked me to photograph their athletics facilities. The main factor in shooting facilities for an athletic department is spotting their logo, and incorporating it into the shot as much as possible. No pain, no gain.

Commercial: Firestations for Studio ALA

Last week I shot Firestations 111, 13 and 18 in Atlanta for architectural firm Studio ALA.  They designed all three houses and needed some shots showing them off.  Here are some of the shots I thought were more interesting. Firestation 13 in East Atlanta at night.

Commercial: Learning Encounters’ telescopes

How about some non-football photos?  Here are photos from two shoots I did through Idea Garden Studios for Learning Encounters, a company that makes build-your-own telescope kits.  My assistant for the first part of the shoot was AJC Freelancer Collin Chappelle.  We shot at a home in Lawrenceville and did the park shots at “The [...]
