Event: 2011 Atlanta Fair @ Turner Field

Friday night I went to the Atlanta Fair at Turner Field with Elizabeth Wilson.  For long-time readers, they’ll remember I went last year with my friend Kelvin. Anyway, this year I just kind of wandered around and shot random things I saw, which I guess is what I usually do.  Sometimes when you shoot the [...]

SEC Cookoff with Vince Dooley and Pat Dye

Back in early December I shot some photos for LG of a cook-off they sponsored at the SEC Fan Fest at the Georgia World Congress Center.  The contest, between former UGA football coach Vince Dooley and former Auburn coach Pat Dye, was to determine who could make the best shrimp and grits. The most memorable [...]

Chick-Fil-A Bowl Fanfest

Photos from the Chick-Fil-A Fanfest at the Georgia World Congress Center on December 31st. Love the light coming through the windows.

Events: Chick-Fil-A Bowl Parade

Here are some of my photos from the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Parade that traveled through downtown Atlanta.  I was stationed at the front of the parade on Peachtree St. Florida State’s Marching Chiefs take to the streets of Downtown Atlanta Friday before the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Event: Pug Fest 2010

Friday afternoon I was contacted by the AJC about picking up a shift for them on Saturday.  I happily said yes and received my assignments.  One of them was the Pug Festival at the Gwinnett County Fair Grounds in Lawrenceville.  All there is to say about it was that there were a lot of pugs, [...]

Pumpkin Carving at Centennial Olympic Park

There was supposed to be a big pumpkin carving at Centennial Olympic Park on Sunday, but only 10 or so people showed up, so there was still a pumpkin carving… it just wasn’t big. Like a knife to the ol’ cranium.

The Imperial Opa circus

At the East Atlanta Strut on Saturday, a local circus group called “The Imperial Opa” had some performances .  I stopped by the 4:30 show to see what it was about. The Imperial Opa’s “human wall”

East Atlanta Strut, 2010

Yesterday was the annual East Atlanta Strut.  After watching some football, my roommate Sam and I made our way over to East Atlanta Village to see what all was going down. The King of Pops set up shop at the festival.

Entertainment: Georgia Hall of Fame Inductions

On Saturday the AJC sent me over to the 32nd Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.  I presumed access wouldn’t be great, so I lugged my 400mm f/2.8 with me and I’m really glad I did.  All the photographers got sat in the back row of the [...]

Water gun fight @ Freedom Park

A few weeks back I got an invite on Facebook to a largescale water-gun fight to be held at Freedom Park.  It was organized by the same person who put together the pillow fight I shot back in late February (see here).  I was debating whether or not I should bring my 400mm lens in [...]
