Lindy Dugger informed me today that I had won 1st place for the illustration category of GPA for March. The photo was actually from January, but they only judge the illustration category once every three months. After some unexplained forwarding delay of nearly 2 weeks, I received notice that I placed twice during the February Georgia Press Association Clip Contest. I won first place for feature single and second place for spot news. Photos can be seen by clicking the link below.
This famous swami came to Buford to teach yoga classes for two days. His Holiness Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda leads a yoga/meditation session at Bogan Park Wednesday night. Maheshwarananda led the class in yoga and meditation from his platform at the front of the room.
On Saturday I went back down to Macon to cover the finals for the A and AA state championships. Wesleyan played Savannah Country Day for division A and Buford played Model for division AA, both Wesleyan and Buford won their games. Tonight one of my favorite bands played at the Masquerade in Atlanta. Dillinger Four, who hail from Minnesota played a pretty decent set to open for the Bouncing Souls. I didn’t stick around for the Bouncing Souls. Billy from Dillinger Four rocks out on guitar Saturday night at the Masquearde in downtown Atlanta.
This guy sunk two holes-in-one during one round of golf and then won money in the lottery that night. Yeah. Charlie McMenomy sunk two holes-in-one at the Summit Chase golf course recently. The former South Gwinnett High School tight end also won money in the lottery that night.
