This past weekend I covered the NCAA Gymnastics Regionals in Athens, Ga. for both NC State and LSU. The difference between shooting for a school and say, a newspaper is the type of photos you try and get. Schools primarily want stock photos that they can use for cutouts. So basically, you need isolation shots of the athletes which for a sport like gymnastics isn’t really all that difficult. The hardest part is finding an angle which will give you a clean enough background and to make sure you don’t cut off bodyparts. Much harder for a sport like football where lots of people are going at once.
Here are my shots for NC State, LSU will come tomorrow.
