The Personal Photoblog of Josh D. Weiss

While down in Pocomoke yesterday they asked me to find a stand alone.  I saw this little park and waited for some people to come by.  Once they did it was pretty easy.  They had one of those spinwheel things so I got in the center of it and shot the kids as they spun around.  I also shot some ducks.

As part of my job interview in Salisbury on Monday they had me shoot a business down in Pocomoke City, about 26 miles south of Salisbury.  Things like this don’t usually make exciting photos, so in a situation like this where you are trying to show what you can do it becomes a necessity to work the scene as much as possible till you find something that works and isn’t necessarily as obvious.

In this case, you want to show off that this is a school supplies store while also having a person in the shot.  This means trying to incorporate two elements from the store into the photo and hoping it actually looks good.  Luckily I was able to come up with these first two and got an additional detail shot I liked.

There has been an a teaching conference going on in Anniston for the past 2 weeks and on Thursday I was sent over to shoot it.  The teachers from various schools were learning ways to engage students with various activities that reinforce what they will be teaching in classes when the new school year starts up.

Heading out to Maryland for a job interview at The Daily Times in Salisbury.  Right now I’m sitting at the Charlotte airport waiting for my connecting flight.  I can honestly think of worse things than sitting in this nice atrium with wireless watching the sunset  while listening to Queen.

This photo was taken on my laptop’s webcam.
