Downtown and Kroger

This afternoon I was running some errands and brought my camera with me along with my 50 mm lens. I set it to f/ 1.8 and tried to see what I could come up with. These two are my favorites.

Relay for the Grill

I was cleaning off some stuff on my computer and I found this photo I took about a month ago but forgot to post.

I really liked the lighting which I achieved through bouncing my flash off a sandpit immediately below the grill.

070527_jdw_downtown_002.jpg After two weeks of taking photos for other people, I decided it was time I took a few photos for myself.With nothing going on downtown on a Sunday night, I decided to try and play with light.I thought these two came out the best.

Obviously, to those from Athens at least, know the top photo was taken at The Grill on College Ave.

The bottom photo was taken outside of Hot Corner on Washington and Hull.

I’m hoping to get this thing updated on a semi-regular basis again now that the tournament is over, so start checking back regularly.

Sorry I haven’t updated much lately, I’ve been busy at the NCAA Tennis Tournament and I doubt you all want to see a bunch of tennis photos every day for a week straight. Updates will resume as soon as the tournament is over for LSU, Monday at the latest.

2007 NCAA Tennis Tournament (Illinois vs. Ohio State)

Yesterday I called up a bunch of papers from the hometowns of various schools that were still in the tennis tournament and offered to freelance. Of the places I talked to, a paper in Illinois offered to pay me for a photo or two.
