My Life

Fire me up

Tonight I was sitting in my room with the blinds down and I noticed some streaks going by my windows.  Curious as to what was going on, I peaked out and saw a guy spinning these balls of fire around himself.

Needless to say it was only a matter of seconds before I grabbed my camera and was out the door.  The most difficult part of the shoot was that it was almost pitch black out there with the exception of the fire, so it was almost like shooting blind.

Anyways, his name is Chris Sykes and he has been playing with poi, or “balls on a string,” for almost 3.5 years.

  1. I like the second one best. Prime example of nicely used negative space.
