Dezso Benedek has had some problems with the administration. While some professors and students would just accept that they can’t change things, Dezso is different… he goes on hunger strikes.
This is his third attempt since becoming a Professor at the University. Previous strikes were aimed at creating a Korean minor while this one is over the University’s refusal to accept credits from a study abroad program he created in China.
Benedek says he has been encouraged to lie to his students about the reasons for not accepting credit from the program while University officials claim the host school is not up to their standards.
