2007-2008 SEC Mens Basketball Championship

So, out of all unlikelihood, Georgia won the SEC Men’s Basketball Championship today.  Even though the odds were incredibly stacked against them, and apparently God too based on the Tornado that forced them to play two games Saturday, Georgia managed to pull a major upset.

On a tip from a friend, I found out that the players would be coming back to Athens around 11:00 pm at Stegeman Coliseum.  I headed over there and found a number of people waiting to greet the hometown heroes.

Teammates Troy Brewer, Sundiata Gaines, Dave Bliss, and Jeremy Jacob celebrate in front of a crowd of fans outside of Stegeman Coliseum.

Dennis Felton, who only days before had been criticized for his team’s lackluster season play, is heartily welcomed by fans after winning the SEC Championship.
