Madison Mays and the Northeast Sales

On Wednesday evening I shot a Little League game between The Northeast Sales and Hawthorne Drugs. The Northeast Sales are trying to raise money to build a field for a former member of their team who died last year after being involved in a car accident with a drunk driver.

The light was beautiful and I had really great access so I felt like I was able to get some really good shots. There are about 11 more photos before the cut.

Tyler Boon plays around with a baseball in The Northeast Sales dugout during Wednesday night’s game against Hawthorne Drugs.

Gage Thompson takes a sip of his Powerade as he watches his team at the plate.

Tyler Boon takes the mound to save the game for his team who had been up by 9 points earlier in the game but fell behind late in it. Little League games are only 6 innings.

A bucket of baseballs is one reminder of lost teammate Madison Mays. The team’s coach found the bucket in his basement at the beginning of the season not realizing it had one belong to Mays.

Coach Jeb Bradberry tries to motivate his team to finish out the game after falling behind.

Tyler Sertoil of The Northeast Sales stands guard at third base during the final inning of the game.

John Cross, left, speaks with his father Mark Cross, right, before he heads to the plate.

Teammates greet Ben Butler at home plate after he hits a home run in the 6th inning.

Lewis Clarke watches from the dugout as he awaits his turn to bat.

Members of the Northeast Sales Little League team wear the number of Madison Mays on their sleaves. Mays was killed in a car accident involving a drunk driver last year.

Gage Thompson reaches for the ball but doesn’t get it in time to make the play at second base.

Members of the Northeast Sales team celebrate their 12-10 win over Hawthorne Drugs with coach Rhett Butler.
