Last Saturday I shot a Tea Party rally at the Georgia Capitol that marked the group’s one year anniversary in the state for the AJC. Turnout was considerably smaller than the big bash they had last year that I shot (see here). I’m not sure if its a sign that the group is losing supporters [...]
A few days ago I heard that there was going to be a giant pillow fight down at Piedmont Park. Obviously, I made sure I was there to capture it. There were a lot of photographers there, but none of them seemed willing to get knee deep in the fight, well, except for me.
I did [...]
Went up to Athens this weekend for my old debate society’s 207th anniversary. Demosthenian was founded in 1803 and I’ve shot them randomly and regularly for the past few years while I’ve developed as a photographer (see previous coverage of Demosthenian events by clicking here).
Anyways, every year since 2007 I’ve taken whatever new gear I’ve [...]

This morning I woke up and headed down to Midtown for the annual Atlanta Pride Parade. Normally, the event happens over the summer but it got pushed back to today for whatever reason. I’d never been before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
The Atlanta Pride Parade makes its way down Peachtree Street Sunday.
Tonight was the Twitter meetup for the city of Atlanta for the month of September. Everyone met up at Inman Park and held a “field day” where people played frisbee, bocce or threw around a baseball.
I took photos, surprise.
Prepping for frisbee.
Today Brett and I went down to Piedmont Park for his friend’s Labor Day grill out and also the Slow Food Eat-In. The Eat-In was protesting the unhealthy food served in many schools.
There was a parade, some fitness activities for kids and a cooking demonstration I didn’t stick around for.
Kids do the weirdest things.
My friend Jonathan, who is a photographer for the paper I used to work out, had his birthday yesterday but didn’t celebrate it until today. A bunch of us went to Medieval Times at Discover Mills because Jonathan’s girlfriend Destiny had buy-one-get-one free coupons, effectively turning a $50 ticket into something much more reasonable.
It was [...]
Around 12:30 today I found out about radio station 99x’s attempt to stage the world’s largest ever water balloon fight at The Masquerade on North Avenue.
Not having much else to do, I went over and tried to see what I could get. I managed to stay pretty dry, all things considered and there was minimal [...]
Yesterday my schedule opened up enough that I was able to make a quick trip up to Athens to visit some people and see the first meeting of the semester for Demosthenian.
For the most part, I’m happy to have graduated and be removed from most of the happenings of the society but I felt like [...]
