A local high school football team is traveling to Texas for their season opener this week.  Too early in the week to catch them getting ready to leave, and thanks to the weather practice was indoors.  That left me trying to figure out how to make a different type of practice photo to go along with the story.

I wish I could have gotten it so the kid in the middle was tack sharp, but I couldn’t nail it exactly how I wanted.  This was pretty close though since you can still tell he’s a football player holding a ball.  Maybe its a little to abstract though, I ran it by the sports writer laying out the page though and he didn’t have a problem with it so hopefully it’ll go over with everyone else.

You can read the story here.

Shot my first football game for The Gwinnett Daily Post tonight (games 2-4 come tomorrow).  In a bit of irony the game was held at Berkmar High School, the same location as the first game I shot freelance last season for Dawgpost.  I’m still a bit rusty at shooting high school football, but I guess I’ll get a crash-reminder tomorrow at the Corky Kell Classic which is held at the Georgia Dome.

Berkmar’s Jordan Murry (13) runs the ball as Aiken’s (SC) Cortez Abney (5) and a teammate tries to stop Jordan during the second quarter of Friday’s game
