Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers

I shot a freelance assignment for the Winston-Salem Journal today at the Falcons vs. Panthers game. That isn’t running till next week, so I won’t post those photos till then.

However, after I finished I went down to the field and shot some of the game. I only spent a quarter down there though because the longest lens I had was my 70-200. I got some nice stuff in the short time I was there though.

You can howl all you want, it won’t change the fact that Carolina lost tonight.

This was right after the Panthers got another pre-snap penalty.

Hokipocimoke

While down in Pocomoke yesterday they asked me to find a stand alone. I saw this little park and waited for some people to come by. Once they did it was pretty easy. They had one of those spinwheel things so I got in the center of it and shot the kids as they spun around. I also shot some ducks.

The Back Pack, Ltd.

As part of my job interview in Salisbury on Monday they had me shoot a business down in Pocomoke City, about 26 miles south of Salisbury. Things like this don’t usually make exciting photos, so in a situation like this where you are trying to show what you can do it becomes a necessity to work the scene as much as possible till you find something that works and isn’t necessarily as obvious.

In this case, you want to show off that this is a school supplies store while also having a person in the shot. This means trying to incorporate two elements from the store into the photo and hoping it actually looks good. Luckily I was able to come up with these first two and got an additional detail shot I liked.

Burning down the (club)house

Got a call this afternoon while I was shooting stand-alones for the Banner Herald asking if I could shoot some photos of the club house at Jennings Mill Country Club which had burnt down in the morning.

The damage to the Jennings Mill Country Club clubhouse as seen through this window looking into the building. However, this beer cooler located in the building was mostly unharmed. (You can see it better in the full sized version)

The fire at The Jennings Mill Country Club clubhouse Saturday was extensive, damaging the entire structure.

Joshua Fields, savior of UGA Baseball

I was asked on Wednesday to shoot a portrait of this UGA baseball player. I had some ideas for portraits that were more creative, but when it started raining it became more a matter of trying to make sure the equipment I was using didn’t get fried so I went with something more standard.
