Still catching up on shoots from last week. This was the Gainesville vs. North Springs lacrosse game. My second attempt at lacrosse, but first at boy’s lacrosse. Shooting fast moving people with faster, but smaller moving balls in the dark is quite difficult.
Last week I shot the JV Boys and Girls soccer games between North Atlanta and North Springs High School. The light was really nice, then the sun set and it wasn’t so nice… and it was cold.
This past Friday I shot the final game of the regular season between Peachtree Ridge and North Gwinnett High School. Both teams were undefeated in their region 7AAAAA, so the game was actually a championship of sorts. North Gwinnett won the game to claim their first regional title, but both teams will go to the [...]
On Saturday I went back down to Macon to cover the finals for the A and AA state championships. Wesleyan played Savannah Country Day for division A and Buford played Model for division AA, both Wesleyan and Buford won their games.
Wesleyan’s Anne Marie Armstrong, right, hugs assistant coach Mary Stephenson, left, after the Wolves downed [...]
As mentioned, yesterday I shot some Final Four games in Macon at the Macon Centreplex. The games were Greater Atlanta Christian vs Dublin (boys) and Buford vs Laney (girls).
Tough luck dude.
Last night South Gwinnett played my first high school, Centennial, during the second round of the state tournament. Apparently Centennial was heavily favored, but South hung in and won after 2 overtimes.
Normally overtime, or close games in general make me nervous because I have to make a decision about which story I am going to [...]
I had a different idea for this portrait at first, but during my test shots i noticed these lights coming from the background and decided to play with them in the portrait instead.
Wesleyan’s Erin Hall is the second-leading scorer returning from the school’s defending state championship team. Hall is looking to help her team win [...]
Portrait I shot back in November when I was doing the Super 6 stuff for basketball.
Duluth’s Mykala Walker helped lead the Wildcats to the Final Four last year and the Wake Forest signee has Duluth back in the state tournament again this season.
This local high school had their auto collision lab expanded recently so they debuted it to a bunch of guests today. Neither of the schools I went to had auto shop classes so its still kind of weird when I see them even though I know a lot of schools have them.
Instructor Butch Luther speaks [...]
“Make him look tall.” That’s what my assignment sheet said for a portrait I had to do of Providence Christian Academy’s Westley Hinton. Not so difficult given how short I am comparatively.
Westley Hinton did not play organized basketball until high school, but now he’s Providence’s top player and a college prospect.
