I shot the Gator Bowl for US Presswire. It was also Bobby Bowden’s final game as head coach of Florida State.
Bobby Bowden gets swarmed.
Last night after the races I came back to my friend Kevin’s, where I’m staying, and then went to meet up with some of the other friends I made last summer while I was interning. They were all hanging out at Brothers in Jacksonville which was only about a 15 minute drive so I head [...]
This is the 7th post of my Photos of the Year Series, there are two more to go after today. The countdown today turns to Sports Action.
Honorable Mention: A Parkview High School cross country runner passes by the crowd during regionals back in early November.
Mexico’s Under 20 team played a soccer game against Jacksonville State earlier this week. Jacksonville State lost 5-1, not that it was unexpected from what I can tell. Another photographer who was there told me that JSU had only won 2 games last year.

I shot a Jacksonville State University football practice last week. Lots and lots of football practices I shot last week, expect another high school football practice post later tonight.
Deonte Carter stretches out to make a catch during practice Wednesday.
This lady here is in her 90’s, was in the navy and now creates her own bonsai plants. One of our writers did a story about her so I got to take her portrait of her and some detail shots.
Ria Jane Chiepalich sits with one of her bonsai tees in the garden behind her home [...]
High school football practices are going in full force here in east Alabama. The Anniston Star has about 30 different schools in its coverage area, so the photo staff has been busy trying to get each of them in practice this week for a special section that is coming out soon. Yesterday and today I [...]
I went and shot this big “Drum and Bugle Corps” (aka marching band) competition Sunday night. The big question for me was how was I going to shoot it? I’d never done anything like this before so I figured I’d try some safe shots of individuals playing, then spend some time doing more experimental shots [...]
