Last Saturday I shot the Marietta vs. Parkview girls first round playoff basketball game for the AJC. Parkview was the #1 team in the state and undefeated. They ended up losing by 1 point after they missed a last second shot. Everyone was stunned.
During a game like this, where David defeats Goliath, it’s all about [...]
As many of you know, there was an abnormal amount of rain on Monday that led to many areas of the region being left under water. While I was not affected, although an area less than 5 miles from my apartment was, I spent the first part of the day inside.
Around 2:30 though, I got [...]
Last night was my first ever assignment for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. I had contacted them earlier in the summer to let them know I was available for high school football and other freelance work this fall, and earlier in the week they followed up with me.
This was my first high school game with my big [...]
Shot this today, the writer told me that she had broken her nose earlier in the season and had to wear a protective mask so I should try to incorporate that. Incorporate I did.
Parkview’s Lauren Coleman is one of the top scorers and assist leaders in Gwinnett County.
Day 4 of the basketball tournament and two more games for you. Today includes Collins Hill vs. Peachtree Ridge and Brookwood vs Meadowcreek, both boys.
Gwinnett has so much sports talent, its honestly kind of weird to think that any of these kids I’ve shot could be in the NBA one day.
Day 2 of the basketball tournament and two more games for you. Today includes Berkmar vs Brookwood in the boys column and Shiloh vs Brookwood in the girls.
Screaming will not win you this game son.
Shot two high school basketball games tonight: Northview vs. Mill Creek and South Gwinnett vs. Grayson. I decided I would do them as one post since I’m shooting another two games tomorrow.
South Gwinnett’s Adonis Harrison, bottom, looks for a shot as Grayson’s Derrick Horsey (24) pre-emptively jumps to defend during Tuesday night’s game at Berkmar [...]
A State Representative from Lilburn talked a some middle schoolers today at Sweetwater Middle. Seemed like a nice guy.
Georgia State Rep. Brian Thomas, D-Lilburn, is mad that his fake mandatory vanilla ice-cream bill got changed to chocolate by a fictional member of the State House as Thomas explains how bills become laws.
My goal was to light the Parkview vs. Berkmar game, and I was successful for the first quarter or so. Then my batteries on both flashes started giving out all of a sudden, thats the problem with rechargeables though, they don’t tapper out, they just go. I made do though.
Brittany McDonald celebrates Berkmar’s [...]
“Make him look tall.” That’s what my assignment sheet said for a portrait I had to do of Providence Christian Academy’s Westley Hinton. Not so difficult given how short I am comparatively.
Westley Hinton did not play organized basketball until high school, but now he’s Providence’s top player and a college prospect.
