A few days ago I heard that there was going to be a giant pillow fight down at Piedmont Park. Obviously, I made sure I was there to capture it. There were a lot of photographers there, but none of them seemed willing to get knee deep in the fight, well, except for me.
I did [...]
A few weeks ago I started giving private photo lessons. Today, my students and I went over to Piedmont Park so they could get some practice shooting with me there in case they had questions.
When we got there everything was golden from the setting sun, so I just played around with rim light for a [...]
Today Brett and I went down to Piedmont Park for his friend’s Labor Day grill out and also the Slow Food Eat-In. The Eat-In was protesting the unhealthy food served in many schools.
There was a parade, some fitness activities for kids and a cooking demonstration I didn’t stick around for.
Kids do the weirdest things.
Much earlier in the summer I saw a sign for Red Bull’s Soap Box Derby, which would be taking place in midtown. Then at the Reynoldstown Wheelbarrow Festival, I saw another sign. Today it finally came.
I got to 10th and Piedmont right around 11:30 a.m. and shot the pits for a little bit before scoping [...]
Warning: Photos of boys kissing boys and girls kissing girls, if you have a problem, don’t look. Otherwise, don’t complain. Again, this is a photoblog not a political blog so no comments allowed that don’t have to do with the photography.
Sir Paul McCartney’s concert at Piedmont Park wasn’t the only notable event in Midtown tonight. [...]
I hung out with Lauren tonight and we had a picnic at Piedmont Park and then walked around and took photos. As always, Piedmont Park is a photographers heaven in addition to being a nice little place anyway.
Every female who reads this all together now, “ahhhh.”
Today, as a result of the California Supreme Court’s ruling on Prop 8, a bunch of people met up at Piedmont Park to protest. The weather wasn’t great and the planning was very last minute so turnout wasn’t terribly high. I ran into Elissa Eubanks of the AJC which was nice, hadn’t seen her in [...]
As mentioned in my last post, while the cyclists were doing their route I hung around Piedmont Park. The sun was setting so there was some very directional light and I had some fun with it.
I was reading some Atlanta blogs the other day and they mentioned this memorial bike ride called “Ride of Silence” that was near Piedmont Park. The ride was to honor the memories of fallen cyclists who had been killed or injured while riding over the past year.
Not really sure about how many people would show [...]
Quick retouched photo from Piedmont Park of Midtown in Atlanta.
Looks kinda nice this way.
