Preseason Countdown: UGA Football

In honor of football season’s kick off in about a month I will be dedicating the next few Friday’s to my favorite football photos that I’ve taken over the past few years from the college, high school and professional level.

G’Day, Yall

Shot G-Day today in Athens at UGA.  G-Day is the final spring scrimmage during spring football practice.  They play the game in Sanford Stadium and invite the public to come watch.
This year, ESPN covered the game and I’m sure they were terribly disappointed.  It was a pretty boring game where there wasn’t a whole lot [...]

All Night Meeting – Impeachment

Here are the second set of photos from last night’s All Night Meeting for the Demosthenian Literary Society at UGA. It was the 206 anniversary.
These are shots of speakers, members, alumni and guests from various points during the night.

All Night Meeting – People

Here are the second set of photos from last night’s All Night Meeting for the Demosthenian Literary Society at UGA. It was the 206 anniversary.
These are shots of speakers, members, alumni and guests from various points during the night.

Live from Athens

I came up to Athens today so I could hang out with friends before I shoot the gymnastics meet tomorrow.  The Salt Lake Tribune called me up the other week to see if I could cover the meet since Utah is competing, so here I am.
Here are some photos I’ve taken in the past 3 [...]

Photos of the Year 2008: Sports Features

Numero 6 of my Best of 2008 photo posts.  Today is Sports Features, so non-action photos relating to a sporting event.

Honorable Mention: Tyler Boon plays around with a baseball in The Northeast Sales dugout during Wednesday night’s game against Hawthorne Drugs.  Would have made the cut if the background was a little cleaner.

Joshua Fields, savior of UGA Baseball

I was asked on Wednesday to shoot a portrait of this UGA baseball player.  I had some ideas for portraits that were more creative, but when it started raining it became more a matter of trying to make sure the equipment I was using didn’t get fried so I went with something more standard.

Georgia closer [...]

The better half of the mirror

Georgia played the Mississippi State University Bulldogs today in baseball and the Banner-Herald had me cover the game for them. The shoot was frustrating to say the least as I wasn’t able to procure a long lens so I was shooting with my 70-200mm the entire time.

Georgia’s Lyle Allen rounds the bases after hitting [...]

Earth or something like it

Today was Earth Day and some student organizations held some activities at Tate to celebrate. I went down there and shot a few things, but I liked this and the bird feeder making the most of all the stuff I got. Bird feeder photos are below the cut.

Cpl. Josh Reeves Memorial 5k

Yesterday I shot a 5k run that was hosted by UGA’s ROTC. The run served as a memorial for Josh Reeves, a fallen soldier from the Athens area. Here are some photos.

Members of UGA’s ROTC program as well as cadets from the nearby Naval Supply School ran along with a number of civilians.
