Friday night I shot the Social Circle @ Wesleyan football game up in Norcross. No one had scored any offensive points against Wesleyan 5 games into the season, so the big question was if Social Circle would. Before the game people were talking about how they expected this one to be close. It wasn’t, final [...]
On Saturday I went back down to Macon to cover the finals for the A and AA state championships. Wesleyan played Savannah Country Day for division A and Buford played Model for division AA, both Wesleyan and Buford won their games.
Wesleyan’s Anne Marie Armstrong, right, hugs assistant coach Mary Stephenson, left, after the Wolves downed [...]
I had a different idea for this portrait at first, but during my test shots i noticed these lights coming from the background and decided to play with them in the portrait instead.
Wesleyan’s Erin Hall is the second-leading scorer returning from the school’s defending state championship team. Hall is looking to help her team win [...]
First assignment this morning was at Wesleyan. The school was partaking in the Green Cup Challenge which involves trying to conserve as much energy as possible. To that end, the school encouraged students to bring flashlights to school today so they could shut off lights around the school.
Lots of headlamps, few flashlights.
Shot this portrait today of two Wesleyan linemen. They were easy to work with and I needed to show them both being kind of big since they actually are kind of gigantic.
To get the sky that neon blue I used a CTO filter on my strobe and set my white balance to Tungsten, so to [...]
On Saturday I shot three basketball games at Wesleyan that were part of this competition called “Peachstate Battle of the Southeast.” The three games that were part of it that I shot were Buford vs. Marist, Mill Creek vs. J.L. Mann and Wesleyan vs. Butler.
I used my single strobe set up again, but hopefully we’ll [...]
One of the portraits I had to shoot today was of this softball player, Paige Hamlin, from Wesleyan. I was trying to think of poses for her and she started tossing the ball up in the air as we talked, and I decided that could actually work.
You can read writer David Friedlander’s story here.
Strobe is [...]
Shot the Gwinnett County Volleyball Championship game Saturday. I’ve never shot a volleyball match before, so I did struggle a bit, but I ultimately think I got some workable images out of it.
The game was between Wesleyan and Norcross.
The winning team after they scored the game point.
With all the rain yesterday I was asked to shoot a stand alone, so I tried nabbing one during an assignment I had at Wesleyan School yesterday. They ended up not needing this for the paper, but I figured I’d go ahead and post it here.
Wesleyan students congregate outside the doors of one of the [...]
