Mentoring & Teaching
As an intern/junior creative, I had a number of great mentors and decided that when the opportunity would arise I wanted be the same for others. Since 2015 I've tried to do just that serving as an internship coordinator for two agencies, informal mentor and now teacher.
All work featured below is from students in the first or second quarter of their program.

In 7 short weeks, Josh pushed my creativity, concepting, and writing harder than it ever has been. He taught me the importance of only pitching work you’re excited about and how the nitty-gritty details can sell your idea. Every week I walked in thinking I’d nailed it, he had trustworthy advice on how to make it better. With his guidance, I now have a much better eye for execution and I’ve impressed myself more than I ever thought possible.

You don’t get a better mentor than Josh. Always going above and beyond to help, always imparting wisdom without superiority, and always up for a laugh. Josh inspires me to be a better creative and challenges me when he knows I can do better. I’m jealous of his ideas, but lucky to have his guidance!

I really appreciated [Josh's] awareness of being a white male in the advertising industry and making sure we had female voices weigh in on our ideas every time we met. He was always rooting for our success and made our time with him as a mentor worthwhile.
