I'm kind of a nerd, and one day I realized that you could organize beers by gravity and color and slot them nicely into the periodic table. Then I decided it'd be more fun to create my own fictional brewery themed on the periodic table and chemistry.
Basically, color determines the row of the beer where light colored beers are higher up and dark beers appear lower. Alcohol content determines column, with high gravity beers on the left (the unstable elements) and non-alcoholic beers on the right (the noble gases).
I settled on the recognizable square, element abbreviation, name, atomic number and atomic weight for the different varieties. Using that as my basis, I picked dots as a background pattern since that's usually how electrons are presented.
I completed each design with a shape and color to help differentiate them a bit more. The color being something that the element itself aludes to in some way or form. Ex: You take Lithium when you're feeling blue.
I also taught myself Adobe Dimension to help render the cans out.
I've been wanting to play around with Adobe's new website/app design program, Adobe XD. So, I took this as an opportunity to learn it and build the brewery a website.
I looked at different design trends to make sure I had a modern look that would also fit with the clean aesthetic of the brand.
To make sure the design was responsive, I mocked up a mobile version as well.
