The Porta Pretty

When I was at BBDO Atlanta we were tasked by The Tile Shop, a tile and bathroom fixture chain, to come up with a stunt that could help them launch into the Houston market during the summer of 2017.

We wanted to prove you can transform any bathroom, by remodeling the inside of a summer festival staple: the porta potty. On the outside, it would seem like a typical porta potty, but on the inside, it would have been an exquisite, luxury bathroom.

We wanted to turn a porta potty into the world’s first “porta pretty.”

To create the illusion of a typical bank of porta potties, we would have surrounded the large interior with decoy porta potties that seemingly remain “occupied.”

And since porta potties are mobile, we thought ours should be too. We'd have it travel between music festivals, races, cook outs and we even planned on having it hauled up to the Super Bowl in Minnesota that year for tailgaters to take advantage of.

Selfie Mirror

We even wanted to create a personalized experience by including a custom mirror that can actually take mirror selfies of users (only when they wanted).

It would have been a digital photo booth that let users snap a photo and then upload it straight to social media. We’d even offer discounts for people who upload it using #PortaPretty and tag @TheTileShop.
