The other week I posted about getting two photos accepted into Leica Fotografie International, well a few days ago I found out a third was also accepted.

Starting October 24th I'm co-hosting a series about comedy in advertising through the lens of Los Angeles ad agencies. I partnered up with Freelance LA co-collaborator Stephen Reidmiller, David Roth and Yuriy Mikhalevskiy of Purple Shit Productions and TBWA\Chiat\Day LA. The first event will feature a talk by Andy Pearson of Liquid Death, a standup show featuring comedians in the ad community and a showcase of comedic commercials from agencies in the LA area.
Tickets go on sale September 25th and are $10 each. You can find them here.
When my wife and I decided to start trying for a child, I had an idea for an announcement based on her most common delivery order. In late December we found out she was pregnant so I mocked it up and sat on it. Today she finally got the go ahead to post on social media so I get to post here as well.
If it seems like I've mostly only been messing around on LinkedIn, well that's kind of accurate. But only kind of. Since late November I've been teaching a Campaigns class over at book180, an online ad school. That combined with Meta letting go a significant number of its contingent workers has left me with more time on my hands. I've been using the extra time really help out my class however I can including lots of 1-on-1's with individuals and teams to make sure they have all the support they need.
However! Class ends a week from today, so either I'll book some more work or I'll start messing around with some design projects. We'll see what happens.
Found out this morning I was being let go as a part of an agency reorganization, which is the long way of saying I'm back on the market for full-time and freelance work. Please reach out if you need someone. I also come with a partner now, Eddie Babaian.
We have a ton of experience across verticals and are happy to work our frumpy butts off for you.
Starting with The Many on January 3rd.
Been a bit busy between freelance work and pre-planning for the second year of The Side Show. However, after a 5-week stint with Havas NY working on Wells Fargo, tomorrow I'll be starting for a few weeks at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA. I'll be working on their Quickbooks team with my Side Show Co-Founder Sunita Deshpande.
AdWeek did a recap piece about The Side Show which was pretty cool of them. Hard to believe that a little over 3 months ago this thing wasn't even a page in a Google Slides deck yet. We came a long way.
Anyway, click here to read the article.
This afternoon AdWeek did a write up about The Side Show. Sunita and I were interviewed yesterday so it wasn't a shock, but it's always nice to get recognized for work you've done.
You can read the story here.
A few weeks back I hinted at a project I was working on. Well, we officially launched it this morning. There will be more to come over the next two months, but feel free to check out the first ever Award Show and Creative Week focused on side projects of people in the advertising and design communities.
I have a great team working on this with me. Sunita Deshpande is my co-founder. We worked together earlier this year to create my alphabet book. We also pulled in Camilla Ciappina from Pimp My Portfolio, Bre Fernandez and Laura Canzano who run the Breaking Ad Instagram account and Maddy Kramer from inVisible Creatives to be our Board of Directors. As the project kept growing, we brought in some additional contributors as well: Yanci Wu, Andrew Thompson, Alex Escalera, Isaac Lee and Grettel Aguirre.
It's been a crazy month and I had no idea I'd be leading a team of 11 when Sunita and I first decided to go for it. It's been fun though and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out a little under 2 months from now.
This morning I had a dumb thought and proceeded to post said dumb thought on Twitter. Then the director of the upcoming film "The Suicide Squad" actually liked it. Not topping this today, might as well call it a day.
Today I'm starting a new freelance gig at 180LA and last week I started working on a new side project that will hopefully be ready to reveal on September 1st.
That said, updates will be sparse as I'm fully committed to tackling these two items with everything I have and won't have time for the smaller art projects I tend to drop on here.
