I convinced my wife to let me take some maternity photos of her before the baby drops. You can find a few more photos from the shoot here.

The other week I made an offer on LinkedIn to take free headshots of any out-of-work creatives who wanted a refresh. I only had one person take me up, so everyone else's loss. Brandi and I met up this past Wednesday over in Santa Monica and these were the results.
I was playing around with a design in Illustrator and decided to finish it out in Photoshop with a photo I shot last week in Venice Beach.
Usually when I'm working on stuff I try to work in such a way that'll make my life easier as I come back to do revisions.
Not gonna lie, I didn't do that this time and I regret it. For some reason I decided not to pen tool the skater and it made everything 5x more difficult than it needed to be. I ended up masking by hand with the paint brush which succckkkkkked. Especially since I didn't use my Wacom, just the track pad on my laptop.
You live and learn though, won't be making that mistake again.
The other day I started messing around with a photo I had shot. This ended up being the result.
It started with an abstract design I noticed in the background of a tv show my fiance was watching. I thought it might look interesting with a photo layered over it, but then I started warping things and adding some text for texture and messing with the colors.
Eventually I landed here. Decided to add in a paper texture for good measure so it didn't feel so vectory.
Let me know what you think.
The other week I was talking to one of my copywriter friends, Jody Bufkin, who was getting into photography. It made me think about how so many people in advertising shoot, but there wasn't a great way to see what everyone was doing.
We had an idea, create an Instagram account that would seek out and highlight the best photography coming out of people in the industry. We're steadily growing the account and trying to feature at least one photo a day.
The image below was shot the other week, and I've already evolved the style a bit, but I like the image below because you can see how I originally envisioned the project.
Got a surprise this morning when I saw that Los Angeles Magazine (@LAmag) reposted one of my photos on their feed. I'll save my thoughts on for profit publications reposting content on their platforms without payment for another day.
Took my drone out to Manhattan Beach today. The nice thing about this time of the year is that the golden hour lasts like 4 hours. You can see more of my photos from today by clicking here.
My fiance got me a drone for my birthday last week. Today I took it up to Chatsworth with us to play around with it. You can see more photos here.
I went over to Santa Monica just before sunset tonight to shoot some photos. As a challenge I only let myself use my 85mm lens. You can see my photos by clicking here.
Back in October I pulled out my medium format film camera and took some photos in Venice. I finally got them processed and scanned. You can see them over on my photoblog.
As a side note, I realized I don't normally post any of my photography on here. I'll start linking over to all that whenever I update because I realized I never usually post that stuff in here.
