When I worked at Saatchi LA I was part of the team that worked on our pro-bono account, the Amanda Foundation. One of the ideas I always had a lot of heart for involved turning Airbnb into a fundraising platform.
The Amanda Foundation is a small animal shelter located in the heart of Beverly Hills. Knowing how people browse through Airbnb, we decided to catch their attention by having a listing that cost significantly less than it's surrounding competition.
Once they click on our listing we reveal that the room isn't for people, but for the animals of Los Angeles. Every reserved night pays for one cat or dog to stay in the shelter for the duration of time reserved. The end goal? Be the most popular AirBNB in Los Angeles County by being continually booked months in advance.
